Yes. I just ordered the 2pc set myself. You can get both kits, I don't see any problem with that. Hell, if you an awesome shifting feel, Grab both kits, the B&M Non-Adjustable & a weighted shift knob. I have the Greddy Knob. I say non adjustable be cause I don't see the point to spend the extra $$$ on something you really won't use. The adjustable is for the weekend AutoXer. The B&M non-adjustable is the one I'm getting w/ the 8 pc set as well.

Edit: BTW Don't for get the OEM Evo shifter retainer. And get some BG Syncro Shift.

sorry for the long post/Edit but here is what you are looking at:
B&M SS Non Adjust: $138
Shifter Retainer: $17
2pc Bushings Kit: $27
8pc Bushings Kit: $28
BG Syncro Shift: Price at local Auto store.

It really depends if he wants to keep the warranty. If he wants to keep it, there's not much he can do.

If not, A flash is too much of a pain to get done as a surprise. If it were me, I would get him a Hallman manual boost controller ($60), a K&N air filter ($60), and Autometer boost gauge ($60). If you want to hit the $200 mark, get him a gas card.

the shifter base bushings dont do much. you get more of the notchy feel from the under the hood shifter cable bushings.

Well if we are going this route... I haven't found anyone that beats the great customer service of JSC Speed and/or there prices!
IE: B&M non adjust:
Lancer shop $138 +$7.17S&H (MI to CO)
JSC Speed $125 +$8.70S&H (PA to Co)

Alright....2 main choices that I have here. But the EVO newbie has some more questions

1. B&M short shifter with 2pc bushings. ( what is a BG Syncro Shift? and the retainer?? I'm assuming that the SS won't work without them?? )
2. Manual Boost controller. I found a list here, http://www.jscspeed.com/universal/boostcontroller.htm (What are the good brands for the EVOs? Greddy? HKS? )

I'm sorry to ask so many newbie questions, sigh

Go to E-Bay and find a Hallman RX MBC (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AIT). Remember you'll need a Boost gauge & guage pod if you buy a boost controller. Also it suggested to have a cat-back and intake if you run a boost controller (http://www.hallmanboostcontroller.com/faq.html 4th question).

Edit: Also with the MBC you'll want a stronger BOV. I suggest the JDM MR BOV from NoLimitsMotors: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=140860

Not a problem. If you want something under $200 go with the B&M non-adjustable short shifter & 2pc bushing kit. <~ That would make me happy. Let me know what you finally decide on.
