I was over on the Kill story section of *************** and all everyone kept talking about was how the SRT-4 was way underrated and stock to stock it will beat an Evo on the top end. Several things, including

1. 1/4 mile times from several magazines
2. Physics (FWD=not suited for drag racing)
3. Simple math 270hp, 3200lbs > 230hp, 3,000lbs
4. commen sense
5. Ability of 4G63 to take more boost/mods

would leave me to believe this is a hoax. However, several evo owners were talking like the SRT-4's are a superior car.


This has got to be BS. Someone even said that the Evo's AWD is a disadvantage on the top end compared to FWD. I'm starting to get paranoid. Is my 03 Evo w/ catback, mbc, safc-II, and open filter gonna whooped by some stock neon? If so, I'm selling it. (j/k)

 

Yea you'll get smoked.... now stop asking dumb questions and do a search, there is always a faster car than you, and srt-4's are by no means slow.

 

The srt can be pretty quick, 2.4lt turbo. I have a friend that kills me from a roll at freeway speeds (on my personal freeway in my back yard ofcorse) but at the drag strip hes always in my rearview. Its too bad he wont do a track day with me.....

Ive never had any problmes with any srt-4s and all have been from a roll. With the exception of my friend that had a hand full of mods and i just had a mbc at the time. But we just did it for ****s and gigles

i used to own a SRT-4, it was very fast, i would always beat EVO's from a roll as long as they were not heavily modded, but as mentioned above, i would lose from a stop or at the track everytime. traction issues were horrible with that car, i could spin through 3rd gear, and that got irritating after a while...which is why i am buying an EVO now, i want to have the best of both worlds...

If the srt-4 is stock, and you know how to drive... why are you worried? Their quick but they only get real quick when they start to get modded.

lol i hate srt-4 had a cople of nukle heads hating on me. and was like race you ***** i was like ok but why i have stock evo and you have modded srt4 which will be faster. so i race and yes they pulled on me but i was kind of there not passing them. so i have my name as SRT-4 KILLERS. thats my crew now. and i just want to mod car to beat all srt4. and on that note. there was one trying to keep up with me around some turns and he was all over the place and i was not even pushing it. so there i laugh at them. they cant heandle for there life. and on that note good nite all and hope the best.

 

I personally have never had problem with those clown cars. When I was stock I raced my budy from a roll and took him by 3 cars and lost him after 140 mph. I really think those are horible cars and the reason I am saying that is not about the power but in case of a crash. You will die if you crash over 45 mph you are good as dead.
