hahaha......man common now, who cares there will always be cars faster than our evos, but the str4 is not one of them for sure, a srt4 will never be better than an evo. They are quick i give em' that...for them to beat a stock evo they for sure have started to mod something on the car. Run around a track see who comes on top.......

 

The SRT-4 is a very quick little car that has mad potential to be even quicker like our Evo's. Since I've started modding my car I've never had any problems beating the few that I've raced on the highway. I love it when people say our cars have no top end ability. Even when I was pushing 334 to the wheels I rarely lost to rwd cars with equal horse power. Both cars are quick as hell for the money though.

 

Stock for stock on the highway I did get beat by a couple of cars including a SRT4, but at the track I ran a 14.2 in my car while a friend of mine turned around and ran a 13.6 in my car while it was stock. On the other side of that last run a black SRT4 that was a supposed stg1 ran 14.1 then a best of 13.9 later that night. Different drivers, different capabilities. I would of lost to that SRT if I was driving my car both times that night because I can't launch my car for sheit .

SRT-4 were built for one purpose. To be "fast3r" than just about anything in its class. And at that dodge did well. Obviously, it gives up some things to be able to do that, like a nice interior, power rear windows, and the seats arent the most comfortable. The car was simply built to be quick4 of my good friends have them (one with an AGP turbo), and from a roll they roast me. Ive been on a semi-stock one racing a Z28 @ 160+. I have got to give it respect, though i don't think i would buy one now due to them being so common around here, if it was a nich vehicle like it was intended to be then i would have gotten one. In the 1/4 though, they can't compete with me though. I went to a local SRT meet here (about 20-30 of them were there), i raced at least 10-15 of them on a slipping stock clutch and the fastest one had an upgraded turbo and ran a 13.4 on slicks.

 

SRT4 can be fast. Never ran into one on the street yet. The only thing I hear from srt4 owners are the roll ricing stories.

 

This just got dumb.....

 

Raced 2 srt's. One with a stage one..1. And one with just intake. The stage 1 was from a 30 roll and it was dead even till I hit 4th and then I started walkin him. BTW I had 3 people in my car and he had 2. The one with intake was a joke from a dig. From a roll I would get about 2-3 car lengths on him everytime. And i'm stock. I don't know why you guys with evos keep loosing to these stock srts.

 

The ONLY TIME an SRT4 will beat an EVO stock vs stock is from a roll on... however this doesnt go for the 2005 models. Seems that the 05 EVOs comes out on top even from a roll-on - however, its a very even race in my own opinion.

As for EVO owners talking like SRT4 is a superior car? Please tell me how? Does it brake better, handle better, better traction? Am I missing something? The only thing that car has is speed from a roll-on for cheap. THATS IT

 

I had one pick a fight this morning, I just rolled my rear windows down and kept driving as usual, not worth my time. I want to beat Porsches, Vettes, Ferraris, not a Dodge. No Honor.

i know this will probably get flamed, but i like the srt-4s. my buddy has one that ran 8.17 in the 1/8. he was on slicks and was spraying, but still a good run for a 4 cylinder. he just upgraded to the agp turbo kit. havent got to ride in it yet, but he says it made a huge improvement.
as for the cost comparison stuff that people always seem to do, i dont remember the track having different brackets for "spent 20k, spent 30k".
in straight line acceleration, the srt can be very quick. now in the "twisties" it will suffer some.
either way at the end of the day, drive what you like. mods or no mods, your choice as well. spend a ton of $ or cut costs and get only the bare bones. the choices are yours to make. i love my evo, and my buddy loves his srt4. both can be very fast, both are VERY different and take different methods to get there.

 

one statement, who's more proven. I have yet to loose on the road top end or from a stop,yes my car is modded. I'm not knocking SRT's, not everyone can afford an EVO, so its the cheap way to get a QUICK car. For all around performance you can't beat an EVO, (literally)ask the dodge owners they will tell you themselves.
