Just an FYI to those of you who are upgrading BOV... the 3000GT/Stealth community has discovered that this is a direct replacement for their plastic BOVs. Some of you may want to try selling your used ones on 3si.org.
The Forge Type RS is about the only way to go. It's adjustable, and the "kit" comes with recirculating abilities. It allows you to set it up to be as "weak" as the stock unit, which is what the ECU likes, and still holds solid boost under pressure.
The problem with most BOVs, is that they are not adjustable. If you happen to find one that is tuned properly for your specific setup, congrats, you won the lotto. Even then, if you make any changes to the intake, exhaust, cams, etc., the BOV will go out of adjustment.
I tried the HKS SSQV VTA and recirculating, and it never did function properly, causing the car to surge during throttle-lift. I took it apart to see if the internals were working properly, and they were, but inside is a complete opposite of the outer finish...pretty crappy in there with cheap metals and plastic. The Forge internals are so much nicer...all milled aluminum and nice rubber seals.
The Forge unit is pretty quiet, so if you're looking for noise, this is not the one for you. And yeah, it's all kind of a waste of money at this early of a stage.
BTW, if anyone wants a HKS SSQV with recirc kit, I'd sell it pretty cheap...say, $100?
