evo reliability

Hi.think about getting a new/used non-abusued RS 8/9 and was just wondering how reliable evos are in general? ive read a few stories of evos breaking,etc.just wondering your opinons.also,is it possible/hard to put pwr locks/windows in a RS?.thanks

its hard to find a used non-abused evo or sti


i had 27k on my evo still on the stock clutch, with no problems.
drove it pretty hard too...

Keep in mind that this is a performance car so people are going to drive it hard. The only way I would buy a used evo is from someone who is about 70 years old and realized his *** couldn't handle the stiff suspension. Look for cars that have not been modded and has smooth shifting gear box.

You're taking a big risk buying a used hi-performance car.

damn i would think an STI would be more expensive to fix than an evo, considering it has a boxer engine in it and to fix anything in it u need to pop the enigine out, thats what i read on WRX forums.
I still have time to pick between two thats y im doing my research now.

33000 miles and going... flawless and on stock clutch still... over 400hp/tq since 4000 miles...

I think they are fairly reliable if you treat it right, then again I only have about 400 miles on mine lol.
