Need advice please!!!!
I'm flying out of town tomorrow to pick up my new car!
Really excited and as I'm making a check list for everything for my flight tomorrow, I thought about the break-in process. Everyone says no extended highway driving, vary rpm's. It's about 600 miles. How am I suppose to keep the rpm's varied? Doesn't the manual say no extended highway driving during break-in? What kind of problems with that cause the engine? I'm really concerned about reliability and longevity. I was so excited to find the vehicle, I booked the plane ticket the same day. Now, I'm worried about what kind of long term affects I'll cause the engine by driving it back...
Any advice???

You're going to have to change it up. Don't cruise at the same speed for too long. Go 55 for a while, then 65, then 75. Do it in 5th sometimes, 4th other times. Hit the gas hard and do boosted pulls to 5k then let off. Make sure to break up the trip by stopping at exits, then drive from a stop and row through the gears a while, and then get back on the highway. The trip will take longer, but you will have broken it in properly and will be ready to go full blast by the time you get home.

A first oil change soon after wouldn't hurt either.
