Thanks man!

There are many things to consider, so just read up on what other ppl think about the product you are considering to get, and also see what the stock parts can do before you sling money on a aftermarket. theres no real answer on whos product is the best, and who does the best tuning on whatever coast. each product will have pros and cons. so do your research, check out the websites, and if you still dont understand then just ask someone here if it hasnt been explained well. thats just my 2 cents and im still Newb
Just make sure you do your research before worrying about IC pipes, manifolds, and o2 housings (I assume that's what you mean by turbo oulet). I use the stock IC pipes, and I use the stock exhaust manifold/o2 housing both ported/port-matched/jet-coated by Buschur Racing. See my thread here...
It's a Warrtalon Xmas Part 2 - Buschur Porting & Coating
Upper IC pipes (UICP) aren't need, but the Lower IC pipe (LICP) is a great mod - there just isn't one for the IX yet.

All good to know, thank you!
I think I am going to stick with the $1,000 300WHP mods for now though.

Hopupracing.com is the cheapest place I have been able to find for the DC Sports DP and either the Espelir JGT500R or DC Sports cat-back. $239 for the DP, and $489 or $475 for the cat-back. With free shipping. Do you know of any place cheaper or better to buy from?
Also, the o2 bung is on the Cat on the IX, correct? If so, will it reach back to the bung on the mid pipe instead when I replace the exhuast?
Thanks!

Yes, the o2 reaches back to the cat-back bung. That's another thing you can find in several recent threads. Become adept at finding such things.
No, I don't know where to find those exhausts cheaper, but I probably wouldn't consider them to begin with. What made you pick DC Sports and Espelir already? Keep in mind that with a one-piece DP/TP, you can't simply re-install the stock cat quickly in case of legal/emissions reasons. Also, make sure that whatever exhaust parts you get are guaranteed to fit on the IX, since they're all designed for the VIIIs - some fit; some don't.

EVO_IX_MR,
I'm in about the same situation as yourself. I just got my IX MR almost a month ago. I just installed the Works drop in filter and am still waiting a little while to see what exhaust solution works out the best. There are more than a few people out there that have installed some TBE's, either complete or Frankenstien'd together but it still seems a little inconclusive to me as what is fitting well and what isn't.
I'm sure that by the end of January, we'll start to see some well documented threads as to specific exhausts for the IX MR and then you (and I....) will be better able to make an informed decision.
If you're anything like me, you HATE to wait.... But in a case like this, it's probably for the best. Personally, I can't wait to find a suitable exhaust and get this thing flashed. It's hella quick, but I'm still missing some of the grunt that I had with my alcohol injected/White Rabbit, cammed 04 RS...... miss that little sucker sometimes....... (I think I just felt a tear slide down my cheek..........ha ha......)
Have fun with it....

The DC Sports and the Espelir cat-backs are ones that I like, can afford and I have been able to confirm they fit on an IX. They are not the cheapest (Megan and Authority are), but also not anywhere near the most expensive.
Besides the Works and Buschur DP, the DC Sports is the only DP I have been able to confirm fits on an IX. Yes, it will not be as quick to go back to the stock cat with the combo DP/TP but at $239 total for DP and TP I will compromise.

Espelir JGT500R Cat-Back installed
I just installed my first mod today, an Espelir JGT500R cat-back exhaust. It was easy to put on, fits perfectly and sounds great. It wasn't too expensive either; $450 shipped from A-spec on EBay. I will try and post the pictures bellow properly. Sorry, some aren't that good. I will post some sounds clips later too. I hope this helps other new IX owners looking for a exhaust that fits well.

I didn't have ramps, so I had to improvise
This is the O2 sensor hole on the mid pipe (had to be plugged becasue the O2 sensor is on the cat with the IX

Hi Flow Cat/Test Pipe
Does anyone know anything about this Hi Flow Cat (which looks more like a test pipe) on EBay?
The price is crazy, but I am worried about quality.
Also, will any test pipe or high flow cat cause the check engine light to come on in my EVO IX MR?
Thank you!

Yes, with any cat replacement, you will most likely need an o2 sim, mechanical fix, or anti-fouler to get rid of the CEL. I don't know why people continue to ask this over and over and over when it's been explained a million times...
Thanks Warrtalon! Probably not going to go that route at this point. I was just curious because at that price I could take a chance.
The Check Engine light thing has been asked lots, sorry!
Some test pipe vendors specifically list in their item description "will not cause Check Engine Light to turn on." I guess those exceptions are why you didn't say all test pipes cause the check engine light to turn on?
