Ok, so I searched this, and found another post with the same question but no definite answers back in Nov 05' so I'll ask again to see if someone has any new info?

Website says Wicked White on the RS, MR, and regular IX. However the North American Mitsubishi catalog I just received says Igloo White for the 3 EVO's? Anyone have an answer on what the official name is for the white EVO's?

 

There're the same color with two different names. As far as I know if it's an Evo it's still called WW.

 

i believe they changed it when the 05s came out to wicked white.

haha, stupid for me but Igloo White sounds funny for the type of car this is. I wonder in Marketing, who came up with the name of Igloo White.

 

But in 03 and 04, wasnt it Weightless White?

 

Yes and in 05 they changed it to wicked white which is a different color.

So I guess no one really knows why they came up with two different color names for the 06 White EVO's...... just curious since I have never had a car with two different names for the color.

igloo white (W37) is the paint code name for wicked white (05 and up)
03 / 04 weightless white should have a different paint code name

 

igloo white paint is used on different mitsu models but have a different name than wicked white.
example: igloo white pearl is the white color name for the lancer , but its paint is the same as the evo's wicked white. and both use the same paint code W37

 

the catalog i recieved said that

tarmac black is now labrador black
rally red is now phoneix red
apex silver is now cool silver
and think the ly is a different name

the werid thing is is those are the color names for the lancer/ ralliart
i wonder if they just messed up the catalog? anyone know for sure?
