EVO 9 RS OR 350z Coupe
EVO 9 RS OR 350z Coupe
Hello fellows! I am new as you can see and I am very glad to be able to post and hang out. My wife and I own 3 cars and we only would like to have 2. We have a 2000 Civic SI, a 2002 C-230 Kompressor and a 2000 Chevy Blazer. I put my SI 4-sale on the autotrader and I am hoping for a quick sale. It has all the amenities that kids like these days. It is all blacked out with cf hood, rotas whatever. I got a dealer down here wanting me to test drive this new EVO 9 when it comes in and I am really excited but we also like the 350z. I have driven a 350z before and it has decent power. Does the EVO 9 pins you back to your seat in stock form? Is the acceleration as violent as people say on this vehicles?
IT will be way faster than the 350z in terms of acceleration and "pinning you back." IT also will have 4 doors with more interior room and trunk space, but the RS is the bare bones, race-only version. YOu may want at least the GSR for family reasons...
EVO 9 is a bad *** ride! It throws you back nicely, but what is really nice is the fact that getting an extra 100hp is probably 10 times easier than getting a 100hp out of that 3.5. I doubt anyone on this forum will tell you to get the 350 over a IX.
Thanks guys. We do not have any kids yet so an RS would be fine. I have read in here about the no ABS. The fastest car I have ever owned is that c-230 kompressor and that is nothing. We want acceleration. I also understand the EVO is a machine not for everybody. I think I am ready.
I had this 350z before i traded in for the evo8 a year ago. I had 20 inches on it and my own custom soundsystem. Got LOTS of attention!! Especially from girls. To bad im married and have a little girl. 2 seater, thats what made me trade in. The evo is definatly faster but i doubt your girl will like it. My girl hates riding in my evo. As her body is always pined back to the seat. I would get a evo9 GSR.

My fiance has a 2005 350z, which she loves. I've driven it a bunch of times, and it is a very nice car. It feels a little more solid than the Evo, but then again it should, since it's a coupe. You can't really carry anything in it, though. The "hatch" space is minimal. The Evo can be much faster with minimal investment. The Z parts are pretty expensive, and you won't get the hp/dollar spent return that you would with the Evo. The Z does attract many more head turns than the Evo does, but I'm fine with that. Both seem to hold their value pretty well, and it is a Nissan, so reliability should be good. The Evo may seem less reliable once you've beaten the tar out of it, but then again you'll enjoy every mile a little more. Plus, the Evo can be used in the winter, if that concerns you.
Great insight thanks! I really do love the 350z but I a leaning towards an EVO because I never owned a turbo vehicle. My SI is a good car to me but it is " slower than snail snot". I like the RS because it has the the weight reduction features. All I need is my in-dash DVD, a decent air intake and a quiet aftermarket exhaust.

The guy from the SRT-4 dealership called today asking when I was going to come down and test drive the car. After careful research I took that car out of the mix because it seems that there are engine problems in the 05 and also water leaks. I was trying to save a couple of bucks for cheap. The 06 350z I can get here for 28.5k and the the EVO just north of 29k.
Get the rs. Performance alone the rs will be the best choice of the two, and the perk is that it's a four door that when you need to put the kids inside you'll have room. I can't see how your even considering a 350 if your planing to use it for you and your family, it's just too small. I hate to say this but you might want to look at the sti. It might fit better with your needs since it has a softer ride but still has a good amount of power and performance to make you happy.

lol !!!
