New EVO IX owner

Hi all. Just thought I'd introduce myself! I bought my EVO IX a month ago. And found this site while looking for an ecu pinout diagram. It's nice to have such a great forum of dedicated owners. As the first EVO I've driven this car is a blast to drive. The MIVEC adds so much over the eclipse gsx's I've driven in the past. You get the deep torque feel of the honda VTEC but with the KICK A** boost from a hairdryer-ed 4G63. No wonder everyone loves these cars!

Thanks! I know there's tons of parts to mod with, but has anyone made a basic MOD FAQ. Just of basics and parts they've had success with. I searched these forums and the best I could find were just basic part links and functions. Do you or anyone out there have a basic list of mods they like? I can track down what I want of course but I only use parts that have shown real success. Word of mouth from racers who need reliable parts is always the best route.

The ecu re-flashes seem cool. I have stand alones in all my other cars but something like that sounds like cheap horse power!

Just search around and your bound to find all the information you seek. A simple reflash to the new IX's really wakes them up! Thats about all that I have on mine and its night and day difference.

I'm very certain they can do that with just a reflash.

lol I know that but the only reason I under rated it was because a certain member here doesn't think it's possible. I personally think I'll hit 360-370whp with ecutek, rs-r catless tbe, full race headers, samco replacement fmic hoses, mbc, injen short ram intake, and some 101 unleaded fuel.

I'm pretty sure you'll hit that as well. I recall looking at a thread where an IX only had an intake, turboback, mbc, and a flash using race gas and achieved 375whp. I can't wait to dyno mine!

Cool! That's exactly the mods I was thinking of . My thoughts were along the lines of a re-flash, EBC, exhaust and an intake! What brands are you guys liking for exhaust and intake?

Pretty much all 3'' exhausts will do the same thing and net almost the same power between different exhausts. So it's up to you on which exhaust you want to get, same thing goes for intakes.

Hey. I was just wondering if it's common to pay more than sticker on an new EVO? I see a lot of threads complaining about having to pay several thousand over sticker.
