Is the Performance Pack option worth it?
Is the Performance Pack option worth it?
Hi,
I'm going to be ordering my EVO IX this week and am trying to decide whether the Performance Pack option is worth the extra $3.7k or not.
AFAIK, it's only the Bilstein Shocks and BBS Alloys, correct?
Would it make a huge difference to the already awesome EVO handling and performance?

I assume you are talking about the MR, it's not just a performance package. You have a lot of studying and searching to do before you purchase a vehicle if you don't know the difference between an RS and an MR...

Geez, take it easy fellas. In Australia we don't get the "MR" or "RS" models. It's simply called the Evolution IX. The Performance Pack I speak of is composed of the lighter BBS alloys and Bilstein Shocks. I take it that's the equivalent to your "MR" model?
Yes, I'm going from a 911 Turbo Cab (1989 model) to an EVO IX as a DAILY driver. The 911 is going to be my weekend toy because it's not the sort of car you can drive comfortably daily. No power steering, no ABS, rough and loud as hell (uses torsion bars, NOT coil overs). I like to hear my stereo too, so I need a more comfortable daily driver. Don't get me wrong, the 911 is a joy to drive, but it's a difficult car to live with on a daily basis.
