today im going to look at a 2003 evo

well i went and test drove a 2006 and my loan payments made me want to cry.
So i found one in the paper 2003 with 40,000 miles he wants 20,000$ so i hope to have an evo !!!!!!

is there stuff i should look at befoe buing beside the obvious?

if it a private owner ask if its been modded. and if he said it wasnt check the engine bay for anything like bolts missing or scuffed bolts. good indicator of things removed and reinstalled. if he is honest and said it was modded and put back to stock ask what was done and why it is being sold. last ask when the clutch was ever replace and if it wasn't factor in the price if it needed replacement. remember a clutch replacement w/ labor could run you close to 3 grand. good luck

When i called him he said there was no mods, he is 30 yrs old and he is selling it bec he dose not want to loss money on the trade in, i will look for missing bolts and stuff, the clutch is stock i think, thanx for responding fast

bolts don't matter, you practically have to remove the whole driver's side of the engine bay to change a clutch, and cause you scuffed a few bolts in the process that means it's modded, come on. definitely do a carfax on it though, i think dealers can run a vin for stuff they replaced or repaired as well. good luck!

best way to find out if anything is wrong is to take it for a ride.

well I did not go look at the 2003 it because on the way i saw a 2005 at a dealer ship, I worked with the sales men before, gave me a good price 26000, the 2005 has 11,000 miles, so nice i hope to be picking it up on Friday!!!!
