ACD, no ACD can you tell the diff?

Having said that my MR does feel a lot better than my 03, particularly in tight turns. But going from an open front diff to a Quaife was also a huge improvement.
The main advantage of the ACD is that it gives you the benefits of both an open diff and an LSD. The VLSD is always going to limit the speed difference between both axles in a very progressive way, whereas the ACD can go from full lock to full open in a matter of seconds. So when you're decelerating, the lack of LSD behavior in the front and center diffs help with turn in, and when you're accelerating, everything behaves like a proper LSD, maximizing traction out of the turn.

As you point out, though, your MR has a lot of other advantages (don't forget the aluminum roof, too!) which do make a significant difference.
You make an excellent point about turn-in. On dry, high traction surfaces the open diff can allow for a little tighter and quicker initial turn-in.
However, the progressive nature of the VCU is very easy to feel and I know exactly how the car will behave when exploring the limits. The computer intervention, on the other hand, throws me off sometimes.
I'd also like to see a more aggressive and/or longer lasting ACD mode on production vehicles. The VCU can still have an advantage over standard ACD in low traction situations because the ACD will only limit slip for a few seconds at a time at most.
As I have said before, they both have advantages and disadvantages.
The VCU isn't perfect. A gear driven center LSD might work better.
In any case, the VCU is certainly a better choice than ACD for me.

The 03 has an open front diff.
The 05 has a LSD in front.

They should come with a free MUT tool because I don't think you can even change the clutch on the ACD cars without one.
