Probly old topic...engine swap

I am really into finding out if there is a way to put a 4g63t into a 5g mirage 4dr... I have sufficient funds, and own my own garage, just worried about getting into something that i cant finish. If there is anyone out there that knows if this swap is possible, please tell me.

Maybe try out www.mirageforums.com? If not already?

EDIT: Maybe not of any help but heres their Engine Swap Info: http://www.boostaholic.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6

When Lan Evo gets on and sees this, I'm sure he'll get to you.

well...lets put it this way...you should have enough money where do don't have to set a price limit. just incase things go wrong and you don't run out of cash.....its a big big big project.

If you're doing an FWD engine swap you shouldn't need to spend that much. If you're trying to make your Mirage AWD then oooo boy that's gonna be a blast.

It will be VERY hard to find a step-by-step guide on the web due to the difficulty and complexity of this project. In addtion, those who had done it would not be willing to post anything (since they're mostly shops)...

Unless you're a very good frabricator...I would say your budget might be just enough....

Say you got any wrecked EVO for 5-6K (for cheaper ones, lower quality)...then add shipping (+1-2K) and other replacement parts (LHD EVO quick steering rack and parts to replace damaged parts on the wrecked EVO)...$12K would be stretching it a bit...given that you already have the Mirage

In regard to the Mirage you're getting, what year is that? You might want to confirm if that's the generation that you want. On the other hand...where is that 4G63 coming from? A DSM? I doubt any EVO IV-VII engine will be in this price range. And you will have a tough time to fit an DSM/EVO I-III 4G63 into a 5G Mirage....
