EVO IX has 20G??

Hi, I'm an old DSM guy from way, WAY back.

Been considering an EVO on and off for a few years now. I may pull the trigger on a 2006.

So I hear they have a 20g turbo now??? How does this 20g differ from the classic DSM 20g of years back? What are the difference form this and the 2005 16G?

Thanks for any info that can bring me up to speed.

They don't have a 20g it's the same old 16G from the previous years only with a larger compressor housing.

He probably read about some of the aftermarket turbos using the 20g wheel with the IX housing.

The Evo VIII has a 16g.

The Evo IX has a 16g as well, just the compressor housing is bigger, like 95GSXtoEVO8 said.

Would you people stop saying this crap? There is no 20g on the IX. There is a 20g-9 that vendors are selling, but those are AFTERMARKET TURBOS. Do you not realize that when people like Buschur Racing keep talking about their 20g-9, this is a special turbo that they had made USING a stock IX and MAKING IT into a 20g.

THE IX DOES NOT HAVE A 20G...PERIOD!

IT HAS A 16G6 WITH 10.5 HOTSIDE AND LARGER COMPRESSOR HOUSING.

Ok. Now I'm confused. I thought a "hotside" WAS the compressor side? So what is a "hotside?"

To be fair, the compressor does get hot, but the turbine side gets MUCH hotter.

Ill sell you my complete TD05H-16G-9.8T for only $1,200. Its the 9.8 hotside, so it can boost over 28 psi on pump and makes much more power than the 10.5 hotsides or the IX's 16g.

It's the deal of a lifetime!
(for me)
