Congrats! My girl drives a lightly modded RX-8, and I can tell you that the Evo is a completely different monster. There's nothing like it! Whatever the Evo lacks in refinement and instumentation that the RX-8 offers, it certainly makes up for everywhere else. Congrats once again!

And yes, the RX-8 is a phenomenal, world-class car; it really is. I've had mine almost three years and it's been a perfect machine for everything I've asked it to do; no notable problems at all. But the interior is a bit claustrophobic, visibility not so good, and the suicide doors are a pain when you have to let kids in and out. Plus, I need a five seater. But the power and directness are the main things for me: I just love how the Evo drives and accelerates. I love that slot-car feeling. And I really like its looks. So here I am.

 

Congrats, I hope you enjoy your EVO as much as I do. I usually drive pretty civil around town, but once in awhile I like to open her up, and DAMN brings a smile to my face everytime.

 

Thanks, man. I know I will. It's the closest thing to my turbo Miata that has more than two seats.

 

Post some pics up on RX8club when you get it so everyone can tell you how ugly it is, talk about how sexy the RX-8 is, and how great their interiors are, then maybe they'll talk about how they could whoop you in a parking lot with cones

Yeah; I decided not antagonize anyone. I still think the RX-8 is a great car. But at this point it's not powerful or torquey enough for me, and the interior is a little too claustrophobic. I should have gotten the Evo years ago, but at least this way I got the IX, and I like its interior better than the VIII.
