OK, inspired by this thread, I just spent half an hour on the phone with the Spoiler Depot (Carl:800/588-7005). I wanted the low Lancer wing (part no. 11128; $115), but without the center post. And I was worried about the holes lining up. Carl seems to have hooked me up really well:

They are getting me a fiberglass wing (they also have ABS) because it won't sag without the center post. They are removing the center post, filling in the blemishes, then painting the wing to match my car. The custom work is only $30, plus their standard painting charge ($80 or so). (For my 06 Phoenix Red Evo IX, P23 is the color code on my engine compartment.)

Once I get the spoiler I'll see if the holes line up; Carl made no guarantees. If they don't, from Carl I have enough information to relocate the attachment points on the spoiler, so I should not have to re-drill my decklid.

This should work pretty well, and save me a lot of money that my body shop would have chrged to modify and paint the spoiler. Happy.

This sounds like a good answer, too. Keep us updated if you can...

I have some pics, but I don't have time right now to resize them to make the 100kb upload limit. I can email them to you if you'd like.

Can anyone comment on this a little more. I have a 2004 evo and have been looking for that lower spoiler. I saw the one from spoiler depot:
http://www.spoilerdepot.com/spoilers...er/item-11128/

From what I understand I would have to drill a hole for the center mount? I really don't want to do that. So is finding a trunk and spoiler from a junk yard my only option? Can I cut the stud off the center mount and use some 2 sided tape? What did everyone else do?

I removed the center mount and installed it with the 2 normal side holes. I will see if I can find a picture.
