Lancer spoiler fit on an Evo?

Searched w/ no luck.

I've never liked the gaudy spoiler on the Evo... it may be functional but it's a little too much "Hey! Look at me!". For my taste, anyway.

I tried taking the thing off but the car looks unfinished - it needs something though maybe smaller than stock.

Does anyone know if a standard Lancer spoiler would fit?

Bumpity bump.

Were there no replies because:

- the answer is obvious?
- nobody knows?
- nobody cares?
- nobody knew what I wanted because I referred to it as a "spoiler"?

Don't make me have to call a dealer...

ive seen pics with one on it, im sure that you can put one on it no prob.

if your asking if you can use the stock holes then your best optional would be to test fit one

There is a shorter Evo "wing" or "spoiler". Not too common but it exists.

yes u can, I believe u have to drill holes for the middle section(unless its double sided tape). And I think theres a break light on the spoiler(i think) but thats if u want to wire it.

For the RA's we have to drill 2 new holes for the evo spoiler to fit our trunks. One hole per side, so I would emagine you would if you went to the RA spoiler that comes on the RS EVO version wich ALL RAs come with. Its not a wing and it doesnt have any downward force due to its low profile.

I have an 04 RalliArt lancer spoiler on my Evo. It doesn't take much to make it fit.

The studs in the spoiler line up with the holes in the trunk, so that is plug and play.

All you have to do is drill 3 holes in the spoiler, 2 holes for the bolts, and a larger hole to get the wiring connector through the spoiler and into the trunk for the 3rd brake light.

There is a connector in the trunk for the 3rd brake light. I used some double sided foam tape and it is looks and feels factory.

I agree about the stock wing, for me it drew too much attention from cops and kids.

good luck!

As the above post says...the spoilers interchange but the 3rd brake light requires you drill and extra hold and wire it. The best way to swap is to swap TRUNKS. They are the exact same and the wiring pre-exists. Not to mention almost anyone with a Lanzer non-evo would be nuts NOT to trade up for our big *** wings (deleted on my RS, thank you). I traded my 04 trunk and wing for base model lancer trunk, same color, same day, same color. those guys love our spoilers, hahaha.

Thanks, everyone, for the replies.

upstate, any chance you can post a pic of your car? I'd love to see it w/ the Ralliart piece...

My searches have found that several people have bought the Spoiler Depot base Lancer spoiler, removed the center pillar and refinished the spot were it was, then installed it on their Evo. Installed was plug and ply, except they had to extend the brake light wiring harness. I think the wiring plugs even mated.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...=38260&page=14

"Heed the wife and your conscience. If you have doubts, get the low wing. Visibility is better. High speed handling (+100) mph is marginally better with the big wing, but there is also marginally more drag too.

Or get both. Buy the car with a high wing and put on a low wing. it's a hassel, but then you'll know for sure.

Spoiler Depot will paint and ship a low wing for $179, or you can buy one off of the classified section here for between $50 and $200. If you are lucky, you can find an Evo wing in your color. Otherwise plan on paying another $100-$300 for paint, depending on where you have it done.

OZ ralley wing works too. OEM wings, Evo and 2003 OZ ralley (not ralleyart), have original bolt patterns, spoiler depot needs trunk to be re-drilled.

If you choose this method, make sure you get the high wing with the car (it'll be cheaper to buy that way) as you won't have the middle hole in the trunk. Use 2 sided tape for the low wing.

You'll also have all of the brake light apparatus in place. to switch the wings back and forth you'll need to extend the length of wire on the small wing by splicing in 2 pieces of about 6' of wire.

I went through the same thing you are going through. I feel your pain I'm running the low wing now. Cops don't hassle me anymore."

Here is my 03 GSR. When the EVO first came out in 03, the CF spoiler was an option and the the GT spoiler was a standard equipment. They were quite rare since most EVOs were equipped with the optional CF spoiler.

Ooooh; that look goooood. I like that stuff.

I pulled my CF spoiler recently. I might have to score a red Spoiler Depot spoiler.
