Thumbs up thats it im buying a IX

thats it... i cant take it anymore!!!! with my new job i finally have figured out im going to buy a IX within the month. The oz rally was a fun first car but it is time to actually keep up when cruisin around.. my best friends have an SRT-4 and a 3000gt Vr-4 i am tired of it being known as the "slow-z-rally". I am from Massachusetts and ive only looked at two so far.

To all you guys that have bought 06's...what dealership did you buy them at and if you dont mind me asking what did you pay. Sticker? Were any of them marked up around here in Mass? I also think im prob going to go with the sun leather and sound. is there any money to shave off on an evo around here? im trying to get a feel for what exactly ill be paying for ultimate happiness...only a matter of time
thanks ahead of time guys! (and girls!)

I personally skipped the SSL. I just felt like the extra 3 grand was a bit much.

I paid a little extra for the SSL and I love it: Leather seats, door panels, movable rear headrests, center console cover; decent sub; more powerful stereo amp, HID headlights, sunroof. See my thread on the SSL. I got it for $30,799 before taxes. Totally glad I did it.

SSL = More money for heavier car...?

Personally, I bought the 8 with no options. The 'extras' is where they screw you.

Your best bet is to purchase from South Coast Mitsubishi and have it shipped to Mass. You will save $4-5k even with the shipping charge.

Leather Seats - Don't Excite me (and my wife would complain because she's a vegetarian... and animal lover etc...)
Door Panels - don't care
Movable Headrests - don't care
Center Console Cover - I'm not even sure what you mean by this... but doesn't sound too interesting
Sub - takes up precious trunk space
Stereo Amp - the stereo still sucks - I'll put my own in eventually
HID healdlights - I'd love to have these... but it's not worth 3 grand!
Sunroof - it would be nice... but I dont' miss it

I set a budget for myself and I told myself I'd get an EVO if I could get it for less than 30k out of the door (including tax and everything). There was no way to do that with SSL... and the way it breaks down for me... 3,000 is a bunch of cash to pay for HID's.

Don't worry that much about sunroofs. I live in sunny Southern California, and my past three cars all had sunroofs. My Evo IX doesn't have one, and I don't miss it at all, much less notice it.

That is the pussiest thing i have ever heard in this forum.

Anyway, do what Warr said, southcoast mitsu + shipping is going to still beat anywhere. And if you like having the little nice comfy things in life, then get SSL and don't listen to all these fools oppinions about saving pennies.

isn't that the f'ing truth. I used to get so many stares from the ladies in the integra, now i get so many stares from guys!!! its almost depressing... but whatever. I got mine from Walpole Mitsubishi. They got me an awesome deal on my trade in, and quoted me invoice +$1K. they got me out the door with my new MR that day without too much BS.
