As a moderator, I protect the senior members first. They don't want to asnwer the question 1,000 times. Also, as a moderator, you look to do the best things for your site. I.E. bandwidth. This is a complete waste. There's not much waste with searching.

We have the same sentiments about searching and asking stupid questions, but in all my time here with all my transgressions and being "rude," I've never slung as many insults COMBINED as you have in this one thread. I've called people stupid, but I've never called them a ***** or vagina, haha. Again, I was amused, but you're way overboard even compared to me.

I see your point. The internet usually conveys points in a harsh manner. I would think that me offering additional help was saying quite enough....?

I didn't mean to discourage him. But everyone knows that he's not going anywhere with mods if he doesn't even know he has a DV.

Again, to the thread starter. If you have some questions that are researched, then you can PM me if you'd like. I'll answer what I can, and search more for what I can't.

That's the best anyone can do.

I meant are you kidding me that there's actually a thread questioning your contributions to this site. Amazing.....

I didn't call the thread starter a vagina, that was towards the bleeding hearts.

It's much softer than swearing or direct attacks, which are normally uncalled for.

Ah, ok, well no, I wasn't kidding. Take a look:

WarrTalon............

Look at that, then consider that I've never been quite as blatantly mean and harsh as you were in this thread.

Type A's always get a bad e-rap.

that's pathetic that there's people that use the internet and think it's just like real life. lmfao. I am floored that there's actually a thread like that on here. Just goes to show how diluted our gene pool actually is.

I think that anyone buying an EVO, or any other high performance car, should have to pass: an intelligence test, car aptitude test, and driving test. There would be less deaths, and not such a lack of searching.

I've seen some threads, and "quite" is definitely the key word here.

It's the net people. Just sit back, relax, and search for information. There's so much on here that unless you are troubleshooting or looking for new IX stuff, there should not be any questions like this one.

Wow, there sure is a lot of drama on this site. What was this thread about again? Oh yeah, BOVs. Some people do have a problem with someone not searching on such a basic question. But as he said, he did search, but he didn't find the exact answers he was looking for. I have been in the same predicament (sp?). It's completely understandable, to me at least. And who knows, he could have been asking a question that could have even enlightened you. Maybe that's why you read this thread in the first place. That's why I usually read most threads like this. Maybe there's still something that I don't realize that I didn't know. If that makes sense. And at the same time, maybe I could in fact help this person. But instead you come off like a complete ***, which obviously no one likes. That's okay I guess, we all digress. I do it every now and then when I run into a thread that makes me a little irritated. And maybe if there's a thread that iritates us, we should just ignore it if all we can do is throw names and insults. That would probably make this forum a lot more enjoyable. Although I do find these random diatribes, or whatever they are, quite amusing. But you know what, they get old.

Anyway, I think when someone mentioned MENSA earlier, that they were mistaken. I think he meant to say NAMBLA. Okay, I'm sorry. I'm just kidding, and absolutely don't mean that. That's just what came to mind early on in this thread. Don't take it personally.

Oh yeah, blow off valves, I almost forgot. They're mad tyte yo, fo shizzle. They make yo ride go WAAAAAAAAAAAA PSSSSHHHHHH!!!! YAAAAAYYAAA. WHAAAAT.

Wait, that didn't help anyone. Crap...

hilarious!!!

You can't honestly believe a dude that says they searched, yet doesn't know that their own car comes with a DV. Seriously.

Hey, his searching methods may be flawed, that's okay. So yeah, he didn't know it had a DV, which is quite basic. But he does now, and maybe he'll be able to find more answers than he did before. I think his question was why people put aftermarket DVs and BOVs on this car. Even if he didn't know it came with a DV, that's still a legitimate question, I guess. I think he was just confused because he had seen more than one explination and the reason for DVs and BOVs. I think reading that a BOV was to prevent too much pressure from building up in the combustion chambers would throw me off too, when in fact it is to prevent compressor surge and damage to the turbo. Anyway...

I hear you.

I guess the forum should have a sticky in the noob section that says

"read your owner's manual before posting"

Hey, glad to see this calmed down a bit. This is just how I see things:

There will always be newbs. They will always ask stupid crap or stuff they could have searched for. There will never be a day where everyone does a search first. That's just how it is. You can't change that EVER. Just roll with it man.

All I'm saying is you don't have to be so harsh. Politely tell them the information is already here, they should search, give them a little nugget of info and be on your way. No one is pissed off and you helped a new guy out. I guess maybe you were trying to help, but do you think he is going to feel like he was helped if you insulted him. Think about it.

LoL, hell ya! Although you would think one would do that anyway, I know that was one of the first things that I did. Of course I was completely in love with the car, and wanted to find out all the little features in the car that I didn't know about. And let me tell you, I was surprised! Man, this car rocks! I can't wait to get home and drive the fricken thing again, even if I don't have a liscense.
