Tune vs No tune

I have a Dynoflash mail in tune with a K&N drop in filter and i have beaten two other evos with exhaust and a blow of valve. I mean they don't even come close to winning. Is it possible they didn't get tuned when they put the exhaust on and that is the reason why i always win? I know there is a local guy who has a MBC, cat back, intake, and BOV who only runs 12.7's in the quarter...i would expect more...are all these things the cause of not reflashing? Just curious. Thanks

I am curious as to the amount of power to be expected from a mail-in flash myself. Of course this depends on mods, but what is the average percentage to expect? Apparently a good bit based on the above.

It is very possible that the tune is one of the variables. My car made 272 hp with tbe and K&N drop in before a tune and 292 after a tune and that is on 91 **** poor gas. Our car run pretty rich from the factory, leaning them out a bit gives great power up top

See how much power my car gained up top. It used to fall flat on its face after 6500 rpm. Now it pulls to cutoff.

The tune not only gives you more HP but a boat load of tq because of the timing that is added. Tune > TBE.

12.7 on those mods is not bad at all. There's no reason to expect more. If you can do better, go out and show us. Let's do our talking with timeslips!

But anyway, a TBE is still a great mod even without a tune, but I'm not sure why he'd have just a TBE and BOV. That's a strange combo.

I'm not sure why anybody would have a BOV w/VTA.

how do you know that he's VTA? An intake amplifies the sound of a bov quite a bit...
An intake without a tune would be more questionable...
