There's no sense in being angry at the guy. The fact remains, you broke board rules and came on claiming you had researched, when in fact you have not. As someone mentioned, you are being treated a certain way based on your initial questions/post, not simply because you're young. There is a LOT of wisdom in this thread if you can see past the 'fluff'. By all means, ask questions, research...learn. But be prepared to accept any flak if you behave a certain way. Those are the underlying points by everyone who has posted here.

It's good to see someone who is young having the potential maturity to see a 'real' performance car, and not fall prey to the obligatory rice. More than anything, I think you'll find communities for these sort of cars a bit harsh in some regard. These cars are expensive for the average (young) person. They are entirely performance minded/geared...given that, you have a different kind of crowd.

That would be my observation(s) anyway. Don't let any of this discourage. Simply acknowledge what has been said and move on. Keep learning, keep growing and keep that love alive. When the time is right, there will be a car waiting for you.

+1 to all. Make researching your friend. If you want to learn not only join this one but other forums such as tunerfriends.com It has more for beginning...at least it did. I don't have a license either and I got flamed on my first thread on a enthusiest site. You just gotta learn and it's part of learning. Don't take it personally. Everyone was new to forums and did something wrong at one point or another.

2nd,
Carbon fiber is good if you know how to use it. I personally would hate a carbon fiber body kit. Destroys the looks a hood is really all you'd need. And also, though you probably won't and shouldn't get a IX as a first and it'll be on another one by then, learn about it and the differences of as newer ones come out and why the changes were made. Read all you can find and don't let anyone deter you from your dreams car wise.

It doesn't matter if you like the movie or not - you're trying to mimic the cars from 2F2F, which were absolutely monstrosities.

If you joined the forum to research, then good, start doing it. You research by searching, not by asking basic questions that have already been answered. Good luck finding your answers, but I don't think any of them will help you, since you won't have an Evo for so long.
than god it wont be his first car.

Kwin112,

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about the Evo MR or any Evo for now. Unless you have rich parents your dream of a Evo 9 MR are very unrealistic.
I am not trying to ruin your dreams but I am being real here. Even when you get your license the Evo 8 or Evo 9 insurance is going to be prohibited for you.

A set of decent tires would set you nearly $1000 with the balance, warranty, etc. The oil changes are pricy, my point is that you are an student and you probably don't have the means to generate money. You must be working in a stable job first, just wait a little bit.

Changing the subject, you can find all the information you want on the Mitsubishi website. Despite your age your question is sort of irrelevant the way you asked. A MR is also a Evo MR and the Evo 9 and the Evo MR are just like to trims but the same car.

Just do some search, save some money and don't worry about a Evo for 2-3 years and maybe then you will be in a better situation to buy one.

Good luck!

Carlos
