Do you need to Drive the Evo HARD?
Do you need to Drive the Evo HARD?
My friend keep telling me I have to drive hard (rev high). The reason is that if I don't the ECU will re-adjust itself so the car will be slower and slower
Is this true? I am not in the boost range too often when I am driving on the street.
I felt like this is true, because eveytime after I let my friend drives the evo, the car instantly feels faster. (felt like there's more torque)

Not Technically true but this theory goes the same for every performance car, you gotta push it to the limits every now and then for them to get use to it.
I do it almost every time I drive... lol

My Volvo S40 has a "smart" ecu...it actually sucks cause after some conservative driving to save on gas, the car goes limp cause it thinks that a grandma bought the car...then it takes a few tanks and hard driving just to get her "happy" again...be thankful the evo doesn't have this
You drive as you please, then when its time to get on it, it will still be ready.. I would suggest that if you plan to have a day at the races to just unplug the battery (neg terminal) for about 5 min. and it should reset.. Especially for change in gas mix.. like going from 91-93 daily to 100+ octane.. Other than that, spank her hard when necessary, and caress her often...
