Unhappy need some help/advice

I've been stressing over this for a couple months now and I just can't seem to come up with an answer.

I have an '03 OZ with 61,000 miles on it. The believe the clutch is starting to slip, the struts or springs are going, and something else is going on with the trans. Every so often when I shift the gears will grind (clutch all the way in, shifting slow, and waiting a few seconds before shifting). That has been happening for a while now. Since it grinds, the flywheel is getting chewed up and the gears in the tranny, etc.

I was wanting to trade it in for an '06 Ralliart, but that isn't gonna happen for about a year and money will be really tight if I get it.

I don't know whether to
1. fix the OZ with modded parts and keep it
2. fix the OZ with oem parts and still trade it in
3. not fix anything and hope it lasts until I trade it in

I know it's up to me, but I just wanted to hear some more opinions.

The better the condition of the car, the more money you will receive on your trade in!!!!!!!! IF you have no desire of keeping it then restore to oem spec and get the ralliart. Modded parts are qual to **** condition when it comes to dealerships, keep that in mind.

I agree "04ozrally"

i tried just holding out for a trade in once and ended up on the side of the road and now no dealer will take it. i MIGHT get 100 for it at the U-Pull-it place.

i would restore it with the OEM parts, because a year is a long time for you to be "hoping" it wont take a dump on you. and like OZ said, the dealers look at aftermarket as though its worthless, and with good reason. the majority of aftermarket modded trade ins they get are probably crappy mods done half assedly and end up costing more to fix than they were worth to the dealer. also, a lot of dealers will return them to OEM anyway because a lot of buyers will pass up a modded car. i know of one dealer down here in Baton Rouge that does this because the cars end up selling faster. the more they have to replace when you trade it in, the less they are going to give you for it.

good luck

looking at the mitsu's resell value, i dont think u will get that much of $$ from the stealership so if i were u, i would keep it with the modded parts and continue using it.

it's been my experience, as long as it's in working order, modded or not, they usually end up giving you what the average auction price is (which isn't much) for what condition it is in. doesn't Mitsu give you a $2k customer loyalty discount on a new vehicle?

My friend got 11000 for his 03 lancer by trading it into a Dodge dealership. find a ralliart that's at a Domestic dealership and you'll get more for your money. If you trade into a mitsubishi dealership you're lucky to get 4 grand.

If you trade it in ****ed up, they won't give you as much. Trust me.

Fix it - just decide if you want to keep it or sell it. But do fix it.

OEM parts will cost you as much if not more then aftermarket performance parts.
