Hey guys, this is my first post and I would like some opinions on intakes. I bought a 05 MR and it is totally stock. Any suggestions on a good intake? I like the ARC Super Induction Box...Thanks for your help...pics on the way!

 

Intake is a waste of your money. Get a TBE and an ECU flash, you will gain tremendously compared to an intake where you will gain nothing and possibly lose power.

 

First of all, welcome! Before you get some pretty rough responses to your question, get familiar with the "Search" tool. A lot of your questions can be answered there included "Best intake?". However, I think the general consensus will be that an intake is probably not the best mod for power, especially without a tune. As another friendly warning, the comment "I just want it to sound cool" will not be taken well with some veterans around here.

First off an intake is NOT a waste of money. It has been proven over and over that intakes make power, alot of guys are indenial.

You have a lot of options as far as an intake, just search evom for a while and you'll kind countless threads.

But some examples are HKS RS, Injen, ARC, AEM, WR, APS, Buschur, Apexi, or the famous K&N drop in, haha.

 

An intake is not a waste of money, but it would be stupid to do as a first mod. So I partially agree with this post. You would be way better off buying a tbe and flash. But after you do have good bit of bolt-ons, an intake will add some power and torque. Bang for the buck it wont be much, but it will help with a tune. Without a tune, dont do it. But who would spend $200+ for an intake and then $200 for a mail-in flash? That's a 400 dollar intake!!!! So based on that, do the tbe my friend.

And to answer your actual question unlike most people who will get off topic and just blab their opinion like I did above. For an intake, go APS!!!
