I want to make a grill on my stock '03 grill I wanted to cut the v looking thing in the middle and making chrome border even and sanding down the mitsubishi icon on the top middle of the grill and getting the chrome boarder painted it my car color Coronado Sand Metallic and putting some grill mesh from APC the color is sliver. Is all that posable would it look good. how to make the grill. I all ready searched the forums. please help me.

 

Personally, I hate the appearance of the stock grill. If it was me, i would go with the RRM evo grille.

However,

Do what you want. It your car, your money. Seem like you're on the right track with a custom grille project. Hard to say if it would look go or not because i dont have much to go on.

 

Whatever floats your boat really. Anything's possible with enough diligence, money and time. If you really want an Evo 8 style grille though, you're asking for a hard time. It will not be easy to fabricate yourself.

EDIT: Oh, and personally I'm modding a stock grill to have an open face and some nice aluminum mesh. If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out, but I'd prefer a DIY job since I have the opportunity.

That would take massive skill and time. It would also look really odd on the body of a ES

Personally, I'm not a fan of the stock grill, but painted, it looks really nice. The 8 is alright, but would look really out of place on a Lancer. The 7 would be cool, but would be a pretty significant mod because you'd have to reshape your hood and move your hood latch and such... As for the RRM CF one, I think it looks pretty bad personally, but I'm not a fan of CF to begin with.

If I were you, I'd paint the stock grill...
