IX GSR vs. IX MR top end speed
about the same? maybe the GSR cuz its top gear is going to have a shorter ratio then the MR top gear, and on stock power that might make it easier to go faster.
thats my .2c
P.S WHO CARES ? lol not like there is going to be a MR vs a GSR max speed battle. and other things like driver, road conditions, etc would come into play.

who cares? this is what will decide which car to buy??? Maybe your buying the wrong car then my friend. This car is based on a AWD platform, with a bang for the buck 4 Cylinder Turbo that you cant go wrong for the price, and an excellent handling car from the factory thats ready for the road course.
And u are basing your decision on the top end speed?
With an evo MR, you will bearly use the 6th gear. You will not need it on the 1/4, and maybe not even 5th. If you want top end, talk to the guys on the salt flats in utah.

are you talking about Top speed in mph, or acceleration through final gear?
The MR 6 speed has a higher top speed in mph than the 5 speed, as far as acceleration through the final gear between both is up to who hits the tree first.

The reason I am asking Mr. is because now I drive a 05 STI, I just want to know what the difference might be between the two in long drives. That is what I am basing my decision to purchase one from the other.
I don't drag, just want the car to drive on streets and highways, the turbo on my car dies at 6000 in sixth, like M3s for example at top end speed they might bit me, my car has a lot of torque as you well know, mid range power good, but top end speed after a certain RPMS tends to stay put.
