The IX's are turning out to be very nice, and super easy to tune. Great HP numbers coming out of little mods. The '05 VIII's are great, but I always like to start modding on a new car. Buying a modded Evo is a crap shoot. ....Depends what kind of deal you can get on an VIII, and how much you have to spend. If I was looking to buy an Evo right now, I would spend the extra on an IX.

Bottom line... driving a mid 11 sec car right now and want a mid 11 sec car... Now I hear you can get into 11's in a 9 for about 1500-2k.... so that put it at about 40k otd... which is about 6 k more than I have to spend

check out those prices, $28,999 + TTL for a normal 9, $31,299 w/ SSL. should put you well below your $40k mark

Plus you will be saving on gas!
The IX's seems to be making more power up front with initial mods. The ECU flashes seemt o cost more as it is new and there is no extended harness yet so putting in a piggy back means splicing into your harness.

Evo IX is the way to go. It will be a mid 11 second car with basic bolt ons. Search user name: Most-Wanted and check out what he has done. The IX's are monsters, and definatly worth spending more money.
