hello people im new to evo i got my about 2weeks ago and love but i was wonding whats the stock boost and whats the most we can boost on a stock motor? im going to do mods but just wonding so i dont over boost thanx

 

Stock boost: Search lbs.
Max boost: Search lbs.

 

stock boost is 30psi

you can safely run 35psi on 89 octane

dude u should do some searching but i know the 9 is 20.3 stock but i dont know what the 8 is. just read the posts about 8s and look at their mods and gas they run.

Stock boost on the 8s is about the same, 20.xx Max boost you wanna run on 93 pump gas is say 22-23 lbs.

In the future though, do try searching for questions before just posting. You WILL get about 5 replies of just nonsense before you get an answer everytime.

Every evo is different. Some 9's boost at 20.3 mine boosted at 1.32bar stock which is around 19.3. My friends 03 gsr boosted at 17psi stock.

if i gently go WOT before 3500 rpm and let the boost build gradually mine will spike to 21 in 6th. if i just nail it - it does this weird thing where it spikes to only 20 drops to 16, and graudually builds back up to 18- and tapers to 16 at redline... i guess thats normal?

it seems like its safe to boost 23-24psi on the IXs, 22-23 on the viiis, assuming you are getting custom tuned on 93oct.

 

No its not normal. What are your mods?

Also on any evo with the right tuning and supporting mods its safe to boost up to 25psi on the stock engine/ic/turbo.
