less power in warmer weather

The daytime temps are starting to climb into the mid-80s, and I'm noticing that my Evo is definitely more sluggish throughout the entire powerband. I guess this is common?

yea def.
hot air is expanded. expanded air is less air flowing.
cold air is more dense. more air = more power.

I have found that it is even more noticable on really warm, humid rainy days.

Yep, buy my previous car which had a high performance NA motor was not nearly as strongly affected by air temperature. Seems that turbo motors are more strongly affected.

Yeah, no kidding, welcome to Tucson or Phoenix or Yuma or Sierra Vista in AZ, it was 110 this past weekend and is just getting started...

Add the altitude factor like in Sierra Vista 4500ft, Tucson 3100ft, Phoenix 1300ft ..yeah.. I know exactly what you mean.. It is tough to stand out under these conditions..

Yes its most deffinately more sluggish. Get a electronic boost controller it might help a little by upping the boost in hotter temps. But either way its gonna be slower. Its common.

It mostly has to do with the temperature/humidity of the air, not the density. Turbochargers are great for making up for less dense air (high altitudes, etc.).
