Hey, does the Vortex Generators make a weird wind noise when you drive fast? I'm getting this weird winding-wind-like-noise everytime I'm going 20mph +

for those evo's with >40k miles on them, how are they running still? Any panels/doors become loose over the course of time?

 

winding wind noise? winding as in turbo spooling? the wind goin over the vortex genorator shouldnt make noise at 20mph. maybe higher...

 

Nope they dont make any noise. Especially at 20 mph they dont even work until higher speeds anyway. I would think they make less noise than a car without one being that it directs the air so it flows better/smoother, therefore it would have a more efficient flow line.

 

It doesn't sound like the turbos but i hear this excessive wind noise from the rear that sounds odd... doesn't sound like wind leakage... i suppose i should have it checked out at my local HB mitsu dealer.

 

Do you have a Walbro fuel pump by any chance? Wouldn't be coming from the rear though..

 

kinda of a stupid thought, but awhile back my friends passenger side rear window wouldnt close all the way. it took him like 2 weeks to figure out that the window was crooked. i doubt it but i guess its worth it to check..lol..

 

My car is Quiet to me, 06 Ix MR. Maybe the panel is coming loose and wind is getting cought under it?

 

if vortex generators made a kool sound >20mph all of us would own one...
