The UR test pipe is the same for the VIII and the IX and it does have the o2 bung on it. Take it from someone who has one.

The Perrin pipe comes w/ the CEL fix (O2 simulator). Regardless of whether it's an 8 or 9, the ecu will pick up on the lack of a cat and throw a trouble code.

Not hard, it has to be soldered but it's 2 or 3 wires (can't remember off the top of my head). It's easy, and it has an LED that lights up so you know it's working.

The O2 sim sends an 'all clear' code to the ECU, so if you're not looking under the car, it will appear that everything is in order (it will pass and ODB2 scan).

Guys what do I do now that my 3 inch test pipe from JUN B.L does not have a bung for the 02 sensor on my ix located on the test pipe ? I've never used an o2 simulator before. Where can I get a good one from or will any do? My exhaust is being shipped out today.

Thanks in advance.

Perrin makes a good O2 sim: http://www.jscspeed.com/evo/downpipe/perrin_o2sim.htm

You will need to have a bung welded into the pipe, or put the O2 into the bung on the catback (provided it's designed for the VIII).
