Hello all, I wanted to make a quick thread to introduce myself to your site, and thank the admins and powers that be for this wealth of information on the evom forums. I'm a mechanic at my family owned body shop that serves the Palm Harbor area. Tampa, St Pete, and Clearwater guys, if you ever need collision/body work done, we've been in business since '53, and always lifetime warrently any repairs. My car story...Nearly 4 years ago, I was in the market for a peppy car, one that I could mod. My cousin directed me to the SRT4, which at that time I said was "a piece of garbage neon, I'd never drive that."

Well.... after I found the SRTforums, I learned the real story, and based on what I read I promply bought one at a dealership in Sarasota. (that was at the time when the SRT's were pretty much only in Miami and CA, a 2 hour drive was the closest one to me.

Its been over 3 years, and 45k miles on the car, one trip to Massachusetts, several to miami, and probably 7 to north georgia. The car has been wonderful, but its time for something more. I stumbled across your website 2 months or so ago, and again, based on what I've read about the Evo, and all the positive reviews I've seen, I'm buying one.

I got it from Mark, over in Cali. At the moment, its in the loading area of DAS shippers. Cant wait to get my Silver 06 Evo IX GSR! Mods will be basic, like my last car. And.....get this....your search button works! Amazing! I know so many kids have such a problem with looking at older thread, but to me, that is why I'm on this site. I look forward to reading all of the mods, for better or worse, that the Evolution takes.

I'm thinkin Buschur type package....quieter muffler, and hopes of a road tune by dynoflash in 6 months or so. Lookin forward to this great car.

Here are a few pics of my SRT, thats in the process of being sold right now.

*Stage 1, Shortshifter w boogerbushing, Mopar intake, Mopar/borla catback, Greddy type S BOV, firewires, Goldline springs, and a pretty decent stereo i designed and made (how i did it here )* I'm gana miss those rims

Its been fun, but time for bigger and better things. Or is that faster and better cornering things?

Wow, what made you decide to get both cars? They're awesome in their own ways.

Grow up, Im trading my srt-4 next week(which is a great car) for a '06 IX MR and I was not expecting to see childish comments like that here. Hopefully this is a rare occurance.

Most of the information and comments you will see in here can be a bit disheartening! If someone even mentions another car in this forum the comments get out of hand quick. Most of the time you will get some honest information. If you want another forum that gives you incredible information about the evo from one of the best tuners in the country check out
www.amsperformance.com/forums.

Congrats on your purchase of the 9!
