I full agree with crypto...in the future I"ll have the lightened pulley on there and eventually take care of my suspension and maybe even add a header with a fully exhaust. The piggy back and the use of a nice intake will help give it that extra pep.

The magnum fuel rail really helped open up the power at those highway speeds

I am honestly interested in the new cams from RRM as well as those phenolic spacers between headers and engine block.

You're talking as if you might as well be driving a kia. Its still a lancer and still has potential.

and like mentioned before, no one mods lancers. The amount of riced out civics i see on the road is rediculous. If you mod a lancer, you wont be the fastest car on the road, but at least you will be unique, and that will def get peoples attention.
I'd have to disagree with ya there. You lose a considerable amount of power when it comes to driving an automatic. When I had my 3g eclipse, which was auto, it was .3 of a second slower in the 1320 than a stock manual 3g eclipse.

Also, I have a friend with a supercharged integra. It has a GSR motor in it, and it's supercharged. BUT, it's an automatic (sounds impossible but it's true) and is a LOT slower than it should be. Automatic/Manual is a BIG difference when you're talking about modded cars.

also auto is better if you go turbo, cos it doesnt drop when it switches gear. or something like that. lol.

all i know is auto has advantages and disadvantages, as does manual.
but the common thought that auto is slow really doesnt apply anymore, back in the day im sure it did, with muscle cars and what not, but nowadays there isnt much between em.

There's really a lot of difference between them. First thing is the shorter gear ratio in the 5 or 6 speed depending on what you have. One thing is that there isn't a torque converter in a manual which steals some torque from you. Also, the manual transmission is lighter than an auto tranny. You have better acceleration rates with a manual. Shorter gearing plays a factor in that.

But nowadays, you're getting 5 and I think even 6 speed manuals. So it's getting to the point where owning an automatic isn't bad at all. But in this case, the lancer is a 4 spd automatic.

And ya, I did a little searching to back up my statements a bit.

just for clarification for me, is it true that auto's are better with turbo than manual. something to do with the shifting, the turbo doesnt drop out with an auto? something along those lines????

Auto makes for better traction and boost seems to stay up better due to the auto shift.

What NA mods would be needed on an auto Lancer to keep up with a manual off the line? on the highway?

How much quicker is a manual turbo over an auto turbo (both RRM setup)?
