0-60 times
im w/ warr, 0 to 60 times cant be measured right and people shouldnt care so musch about them 1/4 is what matters leave the 0 to 60 times to the srt boys w/ the g tech timer or whatever that waste of money is called
wow, i didn't know that there was such hostility towards curiosity about 0-60 times... I'm pretty sure that it's just a measure of performance, and not something to get angry about. And yes, I'm more interested in how quick it can be getting to speed than I am about how fast it could go 1300 feet because i don't often just drive 1300 feet
^ Honestly if you think about it 0-60 times are much more accurate in terms of accelleration from a standstill than 1/4 miles times. How much more room for error is there in 3-4 shifts than one?

scorke how are you going to measure a 0-60 time? at the track? no, the only way you can measure it is with one of the plug ins and i dont think those are accurate, i just dont see why you would be concerned with a 0-60 time because that is not a race, like a 1/4 mile
It's not a race? How is a stop to 60 any less/more of a race than 1320 feet? What if I wanted to race a half mile, does that make it cooler? What if we put in turns, now we are really talking........
0-60 time is important to me, and many others, because it is a measure of performance that can be used to judge a car's accelleration from a stop. Just like any other measure, it has it's variables but unlike 1/4 mile runs a lot less plays into the equation.
I will measure 0-60 times with my data aquisition system, it's called an MXL, no doubt you have never heard of one so I won't go on talking about it......

What about this one http://www.techeblog.com/index.php/t...ds-fastest-car
Power comes from a 6.0 liter V8 twin-turbocharged with dual intercoolers.
The car has a full carbon fibre body and chassis. Further details remain sparse, but the automaker says it will sell the car for £360,000, which should translate to around $500,000

3.8-4.1 seconds depending on the road conditions. Best was a 3.89 worst of 4 was a 4.14, all on pretty even but slick surface(I didn't feel like blowing up my car/tranny). My car builds 1bar of boost with the stutterbox set at 5500rpms on my 2.3/3076, between that a Exedy Twin and 255 width tires it gets goign from a stop quite well. I think it could maybe to a best of a 1/4 second or so quicker if launched perfectly, I also have some R-comps that would work better but I'm more about road racing than drag racing, I like to drive my car not murder it

Not just an issue of the cars capability, but how much longevity you want to get out of your transmission. A friggin Subaru Forester is capable of doing 60 in the low 5's, but if you did that more than a few times the tranny would be burnt.
