Sunday, July 30. I go to Stevens Creek Mitsubishi and negotiate on a IX. Got South Coast Mitsu price but got shafted on the trade, so I said no. So I tried capitol. Again got SC prices but only 11k on my trade. trade is 2002 vw GTI with 57k on it. No deal. Will sell privately and get the evo this month, or next (August). Anybody want a GTI?

South Coast's Prices are going up in August apparently, so you may want to make sure the dealer locks in that price for you...

 

yeah it seems every dealer will give a good trade and keep the new car at sticker or give a good deal on the new car and then a poor trade on your old car.

 

You go back w/o ur trade, you might not get that price.

11k on a 2002 GTI with 57k miles?? That's over KBB. In "excellent" (read flawless) condition trade value is 11k. In "good" condition it's 10k.

They were offering you fair value on your trade..

 

That does seem like a fair deal. Are you upside down on your GTI?
