so what do you guys think is the pros and cons of this and does the 6 speed better if so in what ways...and what about real time gas mileage is it worse on the mr???and the bilsteins...worth it??? my bad on my grammer....cumon its a forum...lol

 

i have no idea what a evo ix mr /w appearance package is... and i dont think there is a evo SE out yet...but i have a evo MR and it is very smooth ride, and from what i hear it is much more of a comfrontable dailydrive compared to stock evo suspension.

The only difference between the upcoming SE and IX MR w/ Appearance Package is the bilstein shocks (smoother ride), and the 6-speed tranny. Real world gas mileage will be a little worse for the 6-speed (more shifts), but the difference will problably be neglegable (i.e. 1-2mpg). It all really depends on your driving style.

There have been reports lately that with hard use the 4th gear on the 6-speed can develop problems. The price differenc between the two will probably be about $2k.

6 spd suck!!4 people break thier 4th gear and shift 1 more at the quarter mile will hurt your time and trap!!

 

6spd doesn't have any disadvantage on 1/4 miles. You won't shift 1 more gear on 1/4 miles.

 

 

umm idk what the hell you are talking about any prius but yes we are buying a 07 prius as our family dd and i will be getting a evo but i never herd anything about the 4th gear problem...isnt the 5 speed made by some other company not mitsubishi as the 6 speed is.....?? i made my account before i knoew about the se and now its coming down to costs and if i have the money fore one or the other....buy the best or buy the worse never in the middle...i mean cumon who buys midgrade gas?????

 

SE is the midgrade Evo.

Red Stich Recaro's (look cheap IMHO)
Front Lip (totally non functional, rather go aftermarket for one that looks better)

SO, it has everything an MR has, minus the Billsteins and 6 speed.

for about 500 less than an MR (SE package on a GSR is 2k)

Back to the topic, I'd go SE.

 

This is not entirely acurate. The front lip is functional as it provides extra downforce on the front end. Also if you buy an aftermarket one, this will not raise the value of the car but the SE package will.

About the MR being $500 more, not sure where you got that from. MSRP on the IX SE is $33,874 with destination charge. MSRP on the MR is $35,814 with destination. Thats $2,000 extra not $500. So you have to decide if the Bilsteins and the 6 speed trans is worth $2000 while losing the SE package or keep the SE package and spend $2,500 over the IX SE.
