Talking New Rs...

Bought a New white RS the other day at Family Mistsu in Indianapolis/Fishers, was on the fence about a 9 but it had 52 miles on it so I passed. Looking forward to the very near future of Mods for handing.

Nice site and looking forward to finally meeting the Indy crowd and Kevin...

Removing the spare and jack and relying on roadside assistance = teh big, fat dumb .

Roadside assistance isn't always timely (and sometimes isn't available).

I think ST was just joking around (noted by the "")

Nice pick up, Gary. I was going to keep my 4Runner and buy an RS, but I hate having more than one car, so I'm opting for the MR for the comfort features.

Cabo
driving on the crappy spare w/ all wheel drive is even dumber

if you don't have triple A or roadside coverage from your insurance, then get a fix a flat.

since you got an RS, I assume this isn't your DD.

Ok, so maybe he wasn't kidding.

Fix-a-flat is not the best thing to use. Just get a plug kit (~$10) and a compressor (like in the M3's), if you're really worried. Personally, I like having the jack and spare in the car. The extra 30lbs is not worth the 30+ minute wait.

I guess therin lies the main difference in our philosophies on the Evo. I purchased my RS knowing full well about the limited amenities and harsh suspension. I cannot fathom commuting this around, so it is essentially a track car first. With that in mind, it will hardly ever traverse beyond the city borders (on its own wheels at least), thus roadside assistance or a fix a flat or a friend will readily suffice. Any optional weight loss, especially 30lbs, is almost a forgone conclusion especially when it does not present a safety factor. fwiw - I do however carry jumper calbes, in case my mini-battery dies!

FWIW, I found the suspension to need ~1000 miles to break-in. I thought is smoothed-out considerably in that time.

<grin> I'm not exactly a kid, either. Welcome to the RS Club!
