Canards (Noobie Question)
Canards (Noobie Question)
Sorry guys, but I havn't been able to find an answer for this through searching... Remember, this is only my 4-5th post so flame me if needed
I have seen the canards/front diffusers that you all have on your front bumpers and have been told some of you have used ones for rsx's and such... anyone have any advise on prices and installiation tips? I really dig the way they make the front of the car look.
Also, I am wondering about the same thing with rear diffusers.
Thanks for your time guys!

Canard spoilers have a real function; basically, they generate front downforce to help keep the front end of the car from lifting at speed. If you are road racing, they may be helpful. If you never exceed 70 mph WHILE cornering, you probably won't need 'em.
Regardless of whether you NEED them, we do indeed sell them.
And yeah, they're pretty easy to install.

Other items that accomplish the same thing include front splitters and front lip spoilers. Both of those basically increase front downforce by reducing the amount of air that flows under the car.
Note that below, say, 60 or 70 mph, these have minimal effect. Air resistance goes up with the square of your speed. Also, they create drag, so they'll reduce your MPG at freeway speeds. But if that was very important to you, you'd have bought a Prius instead of an Evo. Right?
