3" tbe no flash?

Can I do a 3" tbe without doing a flash and drive as long as I'm cautious of how I drive, or should I just do the flash first and get it flashed for the 3" tbe?

You can run a TBE and the car should run fine. Intakes are something you don't want to mess with without a flash. Of course, you won't get the most of the exhaust until you get a flash/tune, but personally I wouldn't be that worried about it. Why not save a little bit longer and do both at the same time?

You can run the 3" TBE with out a flash but you will prob hit fuel cut do to the ECU seeing the car overboost. An mbc set at stock psi would remedy this if you dont have a flash. Currently im running a 3" TBE with no flash and i do not hit boost cut so i guess im lucky. Gettin the car tuned for the TBE would definitley be the way to go though.

you would get more power from a tune than you would from the tbe.

I had a 3" catless TBE on my car for a year and half without a tune. You will be fine. Could you get a lot more power with a tune? Of course. Do you NEED a tune? No. You will run higher than stock boost with that 3" dp though. But you will be fine so no worries. I didnt get a tune because I wanted to wait till I had enough parts to justify a $399 custom tune. This is a matter of personal opinion though so do what you want. But to simply answer your question, you will be just fine without a tune.

Nice, Im so glad a flash isnt needed for a TBE. From what I have read seems that you need a reflash for most anything on the Evo. Unlike my DSM, you just throw stuff on and good to go, but like anything to get the full benefit if the additional parts an tune is needed.

Does this apply to someone who has light mods and a custom tune already? I am installing a TBE this weekend and have a intake, MBC, LICP and SAFC and was thinking would the TBE would do. Don't want another tune just yet....
