I've owned the car for just over a year and I am on my 3rd insurance company because I swear everytime the evo goes through the underwriters, my insurance goes up. And this is without an accident. So when that happens I go scrambling for a new carrier to save myself a few hundred bucks. Not sure if this is happening to other people, but this is the first car I've had where the insurance has gotten more expensive the longer I own it; very annoying.
yea if you are on the insurance as being able to drive both of them then they'll just put you as the primary driver of a different car whichever is cheaper for you to be on and then you're mom on the evo since she is a female but since you can drive all of them then you are covered when you drive it even though you arent the primary driver

If the Evo is going to be yours and your name is going to be on it, and you're getting your own policy with your 'own money', why all the talk about having your mom on the Evo and you on another car? Get the car, get the insurance in your name and take the hit on it. It's going to be stupid expensive because teen drivers are riskier to insure than older drivers (esp in an EVO, search threads to see examples). Also, be very careful insuring a certain car in somebodys name that is not the primary driver, because if you file a claim with the insurance company, they may not honor it.

I also have USAA, which is an advantage all in its own. My point is, expect to pay out your a** for full coverage in your name on your car.
yea im paying for the evo and the insurance by myself so i wanted to kno the best way to go and the best company, somebody suggested that to me nd thats y i asked about my moms name being on the evo
"Allstate - Are you in good hands?" full coverage...under my dad's name, im paying everything...$200 a month insurance...i cant imagine if i put it under my name...by the way...me and my dad have a clean records, first i thought that was too high because we have a good records but thats just what it is.
