Keep in mind a lot of what you pay for is your liability coverage. It is not just your car.

I LOVE this thread. I see a new one start up weekly.

Question for the thread starter. Why would you buy the car first and Then call for insurance. It should have been the other way around. I am happy they are increasing the rates on this car. Too many young guys getting the Evo and drivinh crazy and totalling them out.

The best plan is to compare and see who is the cheapest, no one can tell you who it will be, everything is different for everyone. I personally pay 148 a month Full coverage 100 deductible through progressive. This includes my wifes 2006 CRV. I am 28 and have a clean driving record.

I'm with you on this one. Make it more expensive to weed out the *******, and the rest of us may enjoy better rates down the road.

I go thru Mercury. Full Coverage = $125/month, $250 deductible. I'm 30 with a superb driving record. I don't know if this helps but I told them that it was NOT a daily driver. I reported it as pleasure only.

i haven't read any of the other replies to this yet...but this question is unable to be answered. insurance varies way too much depending on where you live, your age, the car, your driving history, other vehicles, homeowners, etc etc..... this being said, nobody can really tell you what a good price for YOU is, you just have to shop around.... but just to chime in, im going to be 25 yrs old in oct, good driving record, live in so cal and my insurance will be 1500$ a yr through wawanesa which is a great company if you haven't heard of it....

Well, I just bought a used Evo a few days ago. I traded in my '96 GSX for one. Full coverage on the GSX was ~$189. I went in today to get my insurance transfered over to the Evo. It came out to $437.xx I also have two points on my driving record.

$350/ month is insane. I pay $80/month with a $250 deductible on my IX MR.

The funny thing about the supposed "most expensive cars to insure" list is that it lists the WRX and STi together. I am willing to bet that if they separated the two the STi would be tied at #1 with the Evo of perhaps #1 all by itself. My STi costs $85/ month with the same $250 deductible.

I'm crying as I type this...I pay $380 a month for insurance.

I'm 23 and have a speeding ticket for going 5 mph over the speed limit but still, how do you even justify that??? I have a good credit score, graduated college, and make a decent income, and am still under my family policy. It's ridiculous...I can't wait to turn 25.

For my 2006 EVO MR I pay about $100 a month for insurance. I'm 25 and have 1 speeding ticket that's on my record right now. The weird thing is that GEICO lists my car as being "2006 MTSBSHI LANCER RAL" which I'm guessing stands for the lancer raliant, which I imagine would be significantly cheaper to insure. I called them about it and they said they go off the VIN and the VIN they have is correct so maybe their website just doesn't have specific listing for the EVO. It doesn't seem like I'm getting much chaper insurance than I should be, since a lot of you guys around my age are getting similar numbers. However, any of you that are getting insane rates might try switching to GEICO and see if they list your EVO as a raliant and maybe your insurance will drop.
