This thread has probably been made before but just wondering what everybody was going from when they got their Evolution???

For me, the difference inbetween cars was huge. I went from a Civic which was my first car and highschool graduation present to the Evo. The Civc was a fun car to learn about modding cars, especially since I essentially had zero knowledge about the workings of cars beforehand (I didn't even know how to drive stick when we bought it off the dealership lot!). But DIY'ing everything to the car was a great way to learn.

Anyways, it had the usual stuff, intake/header/exhaust, short shifter, tein basics, and shortshifter. Below are a couple pictures

I learned traffic laws on an International Tractor when I was about 11 ...
Learned to drive a stick on my Bro's old Dihatsu around the same time.
Practiced for my drivers test in an '87 Jeep Wrangler,
Then got a '73 Beetle when I was in Highschool ...
got my '00 New Beetle 1.8t when I left for college.
I should be getting my Evo soon ... hopefully.

I'm glad that I got to play around and mod my Beetle for a while before getting a "real" performance car. I now know a ton more about engines, turbo systems, and pretty much everything else about cars in general. It was tough being a newbie on the Vortex forums trying to learn about the car ... glad I don't really have to do it here. Even though people will see my title and just assume ...

3rd car = 2004 SRT-4 ("light" mods)
Current car = 2006 EB Evo IX

Current car= 2003 Harley Davidson F-150 (working on selling this to get my next car)


Next car (hopefully soon): 2006 GG IX (MR maybe)

3. 1997 Neon w/ more dents and scratches then any car you have ever seen. (Rally beater w/ a "Yeah, it's got a HEMI" bumper sticker.) I bought this car for $1000, wrecked it, broke the tranny, completely F'ed up the exterior, put 2 12" W6's in it; and sold it for $1500 2 years later .

at 20 I got my 1997 eclipse rs (wrecked)
at 20 I got my 1999 eclipse gs (traded in)
at 22 I got my 2005 Evo MR

I miss the Vette for its looks and good'ol V8 rumble. Focus for its ease of use and fun driving qual. Bravada for the winter tankness. Impala was a boat, but fun too. Oh the burn outs, good times, good times...
