I have to disagree with you guys saying Cali cops are "out to get us". I've only been stoped once, and it was my fault for having my front windows tinted real dark. although cops do look at me while they drive pass me.

and my brother was pulled over for not having my front plates, but he only got a warning.

back to the topic. Just get a lawer and fight it in court you should get all of them droped except for the front plates (unless its a fix it ticket).

and remember to always drive safe and never give in to temptation.

+1 on getting a lawyer. It looks like that cop was just out to get a young driver in a nice car. A similar situation happended to me about three weeks ago in NM. I got pulled over and cited for having a "modified exhaust." i did not argue with the cop. I was very polite to her and just sucked it up. I have to go to court in a few weeks and plead my case infront of the judge. Again, I do not deive wrecklessly or do I condone any type of street racing, so I was just "profiled" for being 18 and driving a nice car. I work hard for what I have and I believe that it is really messed up when cops will "profile" certain cars or people that drive them. It's just a lesson learned.

I'm not too educated about the laws in CA, but I know that where I live, if the cop doesn't show up for court, the case is dropped. since your neighbor is a cop, then talk to him/her and maybe have them talk to the specific officer to not show up to court. that would be your best bet. good luck!

if you get pulled over the rule is simple: don't say anything. don't admit to anything. don't argue anything. just be polite, sign the ticket (it's not an admission of guilt), and then get a lawyer.

Weird, maybe in NC you don't have to sign. I've gotten tickets in NY, FL and GA and had to sign them. I was riding with someone who got a ticket in SC and he had to sign. Back when Ricky Williams had just set the NCAA rushing record he got a ticket in Texas and was taken to jail because he refused to sign the ticket. Anyway, really the point is say as little as possible, admit to nothing, agree with nothing (that would be an admission), just take the ticket and go and let a lawyer deal with it.

man, i've had so many ticket's it's gross.
driving a loud car (any exaust mods whatsoever) and
you're asking for it out here (texas)

but 9 / 10 times, if you're not doing something illegal,
if it's another factor (no front plates, windows tinted dark),
stuff like that, easy enough to talk them out of it.
just say, hey, i just got the car a few weeks ago, i've
been real busy at work and haven't had a chance to get
the tinting removed, or what i did the other night,
no front LP, and i just told the (highway patrol) guy-
my front bumpers plastic and it's stripped out,
until i get the bumper off and bolt it on there, nothing will
hold it in place, that's why i have it in the front window.
didn't even write a warning.

out here
speeding tickets are 150
disregarding traffic control device (running red) 125
inspection 99
registration 99
inspect+reg 150
um
what else have i got.
hah.

dispute it in court.
the licence plate you're going to have to bite,
but the rest you CAN get out of.

you guys are nuts. a 16 year old driving an evo?! when dealing with cops, arguing will only make that worse. and when everyone says 16 yr olds shouldnt be driving evo's, or any sports car, they are mainly just generalizing. no one here will ever know if this kid is actually telling he truth. for all we know he coulda been flying around the turn and the cop saw him. im sorry but an evo stands out a hell of alot more than the average integra. and once he found out he was 16, there was no winning the battle. my advice is just pay the tickets. if ur a 16 year old with an evo, i think u can afford to pay the couple hundred in tickets. fair consequence if you ask me. donot make a habit of dirivng like an a-hole, and then spending more money fighting the ticket than just paying it. ull find yourself not being able to pay for gas. unless your parents pay for that all too.

If i was guilty i wouldnt even bother to post, and i wouldnt drive that wreckless on the road, if anything i can go to qualcomm where i can beat the **** out of my car, just because i am 16 doesnt make me a lier, i was following a friend in front, therefor i cant speed in the first place, and why would i "fly" around on public street, i am really not that stupid.

first off, if you were following a friend, that doesn't mean he wasnt speeding...and two 'flashy loud fast cars' following each other gives the impression of street racing.

also...if you really are 16, how in the hell did you already 'sell' an s2000 and now own an Evo? you haven't even been driving solo for a year.

i never said u were a liar. basically im saying that wether you choose to believe it or not, cops stereotype, and they always will. they will be harsher to a 16 year old driving an evo than a 30 yr old driving one. its how the world works. its maturity and responsibility. and 16 year olds have neither. when a 16 year old says hes mature or responsible, yea....right..maybe compared to other kids his age. but in no way, under any circumstance is a 16 year old prepared to drive a high horsepower car, wether you do sutting stupid in it or not.

and a little other fact. 97% of cops pull people over for a reason. so pleading to us saying your innocent is highly unlikely. disputing wether or not it was "worth" pulling you over isnt your job. cops look for reckless driving when they are around sports cars. you probly did something that made you stand out, and tacked on the other penalties because your young.

and technically getting pulled over for even doing 41 in a 40 zone is called speeding. so i think the 45 in a 40 is reasonable. see...theres always a reason.

An Evo in Cali is almost a sure ticket when you go by a cop at a slightly elevated speed. My friend didn't believe the negative police attention until I was pulled over for doing nothing when he was with me. The cops (guy and woman) had some bogus story about why they pulled me over beacuse it wasn't for speeding. Since they couldn't find anything wrong they let me go. a last ditch effort to get me on something..."Um, sir is that exhaust stock? It looks awfully big..." Does the wing look big too? Jackass!
Advice for any noobs driving EVOs in Socal: If you are going to play on public streets, be prepared to pay the price. The track is the best place to go fast...period. Let the other a-hole speeders get the tickets. I got two tickets that last year. The same cop wrote them on two seperate occasions, both for a few miles over. Now I just avoid his patrol area. (no tickets since) He had a major hard-on for imports. STIs too.
