Hey guys,

Is there any site or discussion forums that shows tips on how to fight a speeding ticket in court. I got a ticket last month for speeding and being over curfew (right before my 18th birthday), the reason I was out a 1am is because I had just gotten off the hospital where my dad had just suffered a stroke, I got out of the hospital to grab something to eat and met up with a friend to go to wendys, we got pulled over when crusing on the highway, the state trooper claimed that I was going 85, which would probably be hard to prove since I wasn't...but cops have more credibility...so I don't know if Im screwed or not. I also hear that if the trooper doesnt show up, my case is dropped...im not going to depend on that happening and I want to get ready to fight it. So far the only evidence that seems mandatory is the hospital slip that says my dad was indeed in the hospital and suffered a stroke that day...I don't know how to prove I wasn't going 85, honest go God I wasn't. I dont have any problems paying the ticket if I felt I was truly 100% guilty, but I want to fight this one, if my driving record ever screws up, I want it to be because I messed up and did something completely wrong or stupid. The friend I met up with is my friend of 6 years, we both know each others evos and we don't mess around on the road, anyways...I know mines is faster...so theres no point :-p.

On a serious note..if anyone can help me out with some tips or direct me to a website of discussions on this type of thing I'd appreciate it.

50% of the time the cop doesn't show up and it gets dismissed..

but hey its up to you?

in the end your still gonna pay the ticket whatever you choose not to fight it or not.

be sure to tell them about your father.. Pitty works great in courts..

Tell the judge you stayed at a holiday inn last night..

Plead guilty to a non moving violation pay the fine for it..

 

Damn straight. You could tell the judge "my head wasn't in the right place" or something. You might get off with a lowered fine. It's not the ideal option, but it's better than full price.
