well if it's fluid changes like that...i'm not too worried...i like to do everything myself, besides actually cracking open the motor that is...so what else makes this so high in cost for maintenance?

Im new to Evos also, but from what i hear its pretty expensive. The secondary O2 sensor from the dealership costs 300 dollars or so. Also just to make sure everythings running it top shape its better to change the tranny fluid every 15k where in a normally car that wouldnt be done til at minimum 30k. Also spark plugs from Mitsu cost around 64 dollars. Its just stuff like that. Thats just the tip of the ice burg im sure.

clutchs...brakes...basically most parts that need to be replaced ("wear-and-tear items") are more expensive then a honda. therefore, its "high" maintenance.

no different then my STi...which wasn't so high. What i consider high maintenance is replacing tires every 10k miles

Well, I did the 30,000 service this summer - changed all the fluids. I figure I spent close to a 100 bux - in other words two tanks of gas at the price it was a month ago.
