Yes I am an idiot, and YES i did search

again, i am new to turbo's..and know very little about them. I purchased an MBC, and realy have no idea how to dial it in properly, AND, if i raise the stock boost settings, what else do i need to do? Just more octane, or is tuning involved? Or does the factory maf handle the tuning for me.

IF u use an MBC, ur def letting the boost hold till redline. How high u want the boost is ur choice. But u have must have a TUNE, if u jus drive without a tune- the ecu will still think its the stock settings- ( in other words ill jus f up ur car)

You dont need a tune if your going to raise the boost 1-2 PSi. The AF shouldnt change much and you shouldnt knock if you put high enuogh octane.

If your GIng with a TBe and MBc then tune it..But with just a MBC with minimal adjustments you dont need a tune.

Wait for your BOOST GAUGE to get to you.. It will help you not only tune and ideal boost but also for tuning..

You do not need to tune your car everytime you change your boost, tune the car for the high boost you want and you can always turn it down a bit, alot of people who have electric boost controllers have 2 maps that they switch from like 18 psi for daily driving and 22psi or whatever for there other map.

Almost all Boost gauges have a measurement unit on them, like BAR or KPA or PSI. Many Times if you have a Boost/VAC gauge there are 2 different measurment units, one for Vac and one for boost. for a quickie 1 BAR= 14.503 PSI Vaccum is usualy KPA. The Stock Boost Pressure on the Lancer Evolution is Aroun 19 psi at 3500 and tapering down from 4200 rpm.

So I was Right, I don't think his needle is Accurate enought to tell .001 of a PSI.
