Just got back from the Mitsubishi dealership
the trade in for the civic is VERY good. private parties down here aren't getting that price and even the modded ones aren't. I think you could do a little better on the evo side but you can't win both sides. do the cap. one blank check as backup. you can wait a few days or call them and tell them you want that rate.

the prices are for the cars people have to give it back to the dealership because their apr doesn't come out to be as low as they thought, or something along those lines. the car has however many miles on it, but they consider it technically "brand new". he said they give those prices to "lure" people down, but only a selected few of the cars actually have that price.
does this sound legit?
I got my MR for 32,999 no haggle for the pricing at all. Car has less than 10 miles on it. According to Bob at Victorville, the company owns 3 mitsu dealerships which are Long Beach, Victorville, and South Coast. I bought my car from Victorville but the cars being shipped from South Coast.
Sounds like this guy's trying to put one over on you. Dealerships do not start handing out cars before the contracts are done which means the APR and price has already been locked in and documented on paper. People would already know what APR they're getting if they've signed the paperwork and drive off with the car. Besides once a car has been bought, if it is returned, dealerships can't sell those cars as brand new.

Got mine for $31,292 out the door with tax, title and everything in November of 2005. The car had 3 miles on it and was in their show room. DarCars Mitsu, Silver Spring MD. I think they moved but they are still in the area and have a deal w/ DCevoclub...
Just call Bob at Victorville for a no hassle deal. I gave them my social security to run a credit check, they called back with the APR, agreed to 32,999 for the MR, settled on a down payment amount, picked out the color, got the contracts in the mail, called down to the dealership and verified the miles with the car inventory number, signed and sent out the contracts, car is being shipped up.
You could also speak to Bob regarding the trade in amount. He's patient and willing to answer any questions you may have.

those cars that have to be given back are called "unwinds" and would be sold as used because it was already sent to dmv to be registered as new. Those unwinds occur usually when the buyer misrepresents theirselves and doesn't qualify for the loan.
The guy is full of you know what though. It seems a LOT of guys bought the car down here as stated on their posts.
Oh $50 below invoice is so so but you can easily do 1000 under because dealers get a "holdback" % when they sell at volume.
Here's a tip....a dealer won't sell a car unless they make $$$. They're not there to lose EVER.
good luck

Exactly. Another thing you could do is ask Bob if the Mitsu dealership you've been talking to is a sister lot. If not, just bring that fact up with the salesperson you've been speaking with.
