Quiet yet best performance?
Quiet yet best performance?
what would you guys recommend to go with from turbo and down, to gain the most hp yet keeping the exhaust quiet maybe a little more then stock would be cool, but my mom would start tripping if it was hella loud.
I recommend getting out on your own so that you don't have to worry about your mom tripping.

Seriously though, good question that I would like to see input on too; I don't want to be overly obnoxious with my exhaust.

its not just my mom tripping , i just dont want a super loud *** exhaust that can be heard far away even if your trying to cruise at 3k rpms. from what ive been reading is that the biggest bang for the buck off the bat is exhaust, so if its as good as everybody says i want to do it i just want quiet performance.
I have the BR Turbo Back Catless with the Magnaflow muffler and I don't think its that loud. It's definitley louder than stock but not obnoxious. Another thing you can also do is instead of going catless like I did go with a highflow cat and that would quiet it down even more.
i have an catback from ebay and a downpipe from ebay and went catless.. it is not that loud.. intill u get on it then it sounds nice and not to loud.. but my mom never said anything about it bein loud when i come home late at night.. and not alot of money..
so if i go with a dp high flow cat, i can always throw in resonators to quiet it down if it ends up being too loud, how bad of a restriction does a straight through resonator cause?
it sounds to me like your trying to make the car quiter than a bentley. look, all exhausts are going to be louder. you cannot get past that. if you want to keep it quiet, then get a hfc. or, you can just get a resonated test pipe like ams's (you can only run that with ams's exhaust).

I have the Buschur catless turbo back with a Magnaflow muffler and it is really quiet, at idle its pretty hard to notice it vs stock (stock is unusually bass-y for some reason).
My buddy has a catless dp w/Greddy Evo 2 cat back and it is also very quiet.
Either exhaust would be great especially with a high flo cat in there.

Greddy Evo 2 is supposed to be one of the quietest...but you should add a DP since catbacks dont add much power.
fujitsubo tbe is also quiet.
RRE has a stealth TBE that looks stocker than stock and is just as quiet.
you can always get resonators put in to quiet down any exhaust
remember that USUALLY the quieter the exhaust the less the power gains.

I had 3" TBE with a magnaflow muffler (universal oval tip version) on my 03 evo. It was pretty quiet. One thing to do if you want to keep quiet is to run a cat. Test pipes make a huge difference.
what is an hfc? so going with a dp, high flow cat or resonator in replacment of it with a turboback and magnaflow muffler would probably be the best quiet yet most performance gains?
just a quick question, whats the highest whp anybody has ever made with a fully stock exhaust, anybody ever hear of anybody upgrading the turbo and still keeping the stock exhaust?

+1 but people complain it narrows too much at certain points. I don't have experience w/ this brank but think i'm going to purchase this catback and then just get a downpipe & test-pipe to make up for it.
