I really really want an evo but have a few questions that the dealers hand out didnt answer. I tried to search them but to no avail so, here goes

1) is there any way to get leather and HIDs without the sunroof, amp on a IX??

2) RS versions.......are their windows manual or is it just they dont have onetouch feature??

3) they advertise 18/25 mpg for the rs and ix and 17/24 (i think) for the mr......what are you guys getting realistically for mileage?? anyone with just a catback exhaust ever calculate that??

4) are the factory accessories really that great to pay so much for or should i go with aftermarket (vortex generator, gauges etc)??

5) for those that drive your evos in the snow what brand of snow tires are good for them??

Sorry if these topics might have been covered at all and i missed them in my search and thanks for any answers or conversations brought on by my post.

1) Nope, sorry. You could get a GSR, buy an aftermarket HID kit and see if anyone wants to swap seats. FWIW, I have the leather seats and they're nice but I wouldn't mind the IX front seats so there are definitely people out there willing to trade.
2) Manual, as in roll the windows down by hand
3) I get about 19mpg but that's because I live 4 miles from work and don't have to get on the highway. If I drive out of town, I'll get about 21/22mpg.
4) Go aftermarket or check out mitsubishiparts.net. I think if you're an evom member, you get a 30% discount but I'm not sure if they're still running that deal.

 

im currious about the tires for winter as well... but also that work well for the summer time too.

 

theres a IX on ebay with leather, look like HIDs and no sunroof(no view of trunk for the amp/sub).......i tried emailing the guy about it but he has yet to reply.......and its a used car place so he might not know.

I also heard that aftermarket HID kits are illegal in some states.........i know in PA (where i am) theres nowhere in the inspection manual that states that ( i used to inspect cars).

Anyone know if the wiring for the windows is there (in the door) or not??

you get the 30% discount from evolution4all in the southcoast mitsu thread.....and i wouldgo woth stock generators because of fitment....and no you cant get the lealer and hids without the sun and sound....but you can get just buy aftermarket hids and they work fine because all evos have projection style headlights.....ohh and welcome..

As far as your first question these guys don't know wtf they are talking about. You can get HID on a non-SSL it's called the SE and is basically an MR with 5-speed and no bilsteins and no MR shiftknob/ebrake handle, no vortex generator and no guages.

But the SE comes with HID, aluminum roof, and the BBS wheels. In my eyes SE is the best bargain.
